Wells Fargo: Allen Parker to the Rescue

Wells Fargo announced that Allen Parker will be replacing James Strother as General Counsel, who is retiring after 30 years with the bank. Mr. Parker joins the bank from Cravath, Swaine & Moore, where he is a partner. He will be based in the bank’s home office in San Francisco.
According to the Cravath web site, ....
C. Allen Parker is a partner in Cravath’s Corporate Department and is the Firm’s former Presiding Partner. He is a member of the Firm’s Corporate Governance and Board Advisory Practice and has extensive experience in a broad range of corporate advisory matters, as well as extensive experience in a broad range of finance, banking and related matters. Mr. Parker’s clients have included JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Covenant House, DreamWorks Animation, DreamWorks Studios, Kissinger Associates and Permira.
He received a BA magna cum laude from Duke in 1977, an MA from the U. of Chicago in 1980 and a JD magna cum laude from Columbia Law in 1983, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and Notes and Comments Editor of the Law Review.
Financialish wishes him luck and success in his new position. Heaven knows he will need it.
