New York District Attorney GC Returns to Dechert

February 1, 2017

Ben Rosenberg, former general counsel of the NY District Attorney’s office, has returned to Dechert law. His practice will focus on white collar criminal defense and securities litigation, representing banks, mutual fund managers and PE investment funds.

Rosenberg first joined Dechert about a decade ago with a group of lawyers from Swidler Berlin Shereff Friedman. He temporarily left Dechert twice: (i) in 2007 to join then-NYS AG Andrew Cuomo’s staff as chief litigation counsel; and, (ii) in 2014 to serve as the general counsel for NY County District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.

Earlier in his career Rosenberg was an assistant U.S attorney for the Southern District of New York. After graduating Harvard law, he clerked for Judge Edward Becker of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
