The founders of the largest private equity firms are all billionaires. Of course, we’re talking about Blackstone, Apollo, KKR, Oaktree, Fortress, Ares, and TPG.

Once again, leading the pack is Steven Schwarzman, co-founder of The Blackstone Group, who took home $425 million – which unfortunately was a ‘pay cut’ from 2015, when he received $734 million.

KKR co-founders Henry Kravis and George Roberts took home $116.1 million and $119.4 million, respectively, in 2016. Those payouts were down from 2015, as well, when Kravis got $166 million and Roberts received $173 million.

Carlyle’s David Rubenstein received $73 million for 2016, while Apollo’s Leon Black took home $132 million.
