Over the next several months, Goldman Sachs will move Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Craig Broderick and his risk management team out of finance and into its own independent division. Also moving into the new division will be Phil Venables, Goldman’s Chief Information Risk Officer. The transition is expected to take several months.

Risk management will have the same responsibilities and reporting lines after the reorganization, and CRO Broderick will continue to co-chair the firm’s risk committee along with the Goldman CFO. Except now, risk management will operate from a prestigious independent platform.
