Goldman Sachs Gets a 'Dressing Down' - - Or Is It a 'Dress Down' Code

March 5, 2019

Goldman Sachs issued an in-house memo on Tuesday announcing a relaxation of its dress code for all its employees. A relaxed dress code has been in place at Goldman since 2017, but it has only applied to employees in the technology division and other new digital businesses. The new 'firm wide flexible dress code' was signed off by the firm's CEO (David Solomon), CFO and COO.

While the memo did not specify which clothes are or are not appropriate, it reminded employees to dress "in a manner that is consistent" with clients' expectations.
