Goldman Sachs Announces 84 New Partners - The List
Financialish.com is particularly pleased to congratulate two of the new partners -
(i) Sean McHugh, Head of Compliance at Goldman Sachs for the Asia Pacific Region - we’ve known & admired him for many years.
(ii) Court Golumbic, Global Head of Financial Crime Compliance - among other things, a Bear Stearns veteran.
Every 2 years, Goldman Sachs promotes a fresh class of partners in a closely watched tradition that heralds back to the time when the company was still a private firm. On receiving the promotion, partners typically get a salary increase and a slice of a special bonus pool. The promotions become effective on 1/1/17.
This year’s list of the chosen is the longest since 2010 and includes the largest percentage of women. Here are some statistics:
- This year, 84 partners were added - 78 were designated in 2014; 111 in 2010;
- 19 (23%) are women - which surpasses previous years;
- 82% of new partners work in the areas that generate revenue – e.g., investment banking, asset management;
- 18% come from Goldman’s “federation” - the behind-the-scenes functions like compliance and technology;
- 75% of the new partners having started at Goldman Sachs as either analysts or associates.
- Around 500 (1.6%) of all Goldman employees are partners.
