Goldman President Gary Cohn Appears Closer to Leaving for Trump Administration

Reports are circulating that Trump is considering Gary Cohn, Goldman Sachs President and COO, to be director of the Office of Management and Budget. [See yesterday's story: Goldman President Gary Cohn Meets with Donald Trump]

 

Cohn, who is Lloyd Blankfein's top deputy, has been weighing his future at Goldman and has had discussions about departing. He is one of the possible administration candidates meeting with President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday.

 

The investment bank's president serves as a member of the Goldman Sachs management committee and board of directors. During his 25-year career at Goldman, Cohn has held a variety of leadership positions in its securities division.
