Trump Demands 'Hamilton' Cast Apologize for Addressing VP Pence Following Show

November 19, 2016

President-elect Donald Trump demanded on Saturday that the cast of the smash-hit Broadway play "Hamilton" apologize for the treatment of VP-elect Mike Pence, after cast and audience members pointedly rebuked his running mate after a performance Friday night.

After the curtain call, the "Hamilton" cast addressed Mr. Pence, as he was leaving the theater, about the importance of protecting diversity. While some applauded the cast for speaking to Pence directly, others found the speech to be unprofessional. The incident sparked a furious debate on social media.

Via Twitter, Trump declared that Pence had been "harassed" and that "the theater must always be a safe and special place."

Mr. Trump: 'Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You!' Now please, return to your responsibilties as Presdient-elect.
