Ex-JPMorgan Employee Pleads Guilty to $5Mn Fraud

[Reuters]    Lawrence Obracanik, 42, a resident of Fort Worth, TX, who formerly worked for JPMorgan Chase, pled guilty to criminal charges that he stole over $5 million from his employer to pay personal debts. He faces up to 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Obracanik was also ordered to attend counseling for gambling by a federal judge in New York.

 

According to federal prosecutors, … from July 2014 to February 2016, Obracanik put through wire transfers totaling more than $5 million from an account at JPMorgan to an account at another bank belonging to an unnamed individual. Obracanik turned himself in and subsequently admitted to FBI agents had wired the money to pay personal debts.
