Bitcoin and Litecoin – Bits of Crypto Euphoria

June 17, 2019

by Howard Haykin

The price of Bitcoin crossed the $9,000 mark on Sunday, reaching a high of $9,382 before dipping to $9,265. Since April 30th, Bitcoin has gone up 72%, and a remarkable 148% since December 31st. The most recent jump in price comes as Facebook prepares to launch its own crypto token as early as Tuesday, according to CNBC reporter Ryan Browne.

But as impressive as those numbers are, they pale in comparison to Litecoin. The 4th largest cryptocurrency is currently priced at $136, an 84% jump from April 30th and a mind-numbing 339% rise since December 31st. Keep in mind, however, that these prices fall way short of Litecoin’s all-time high of $328, recorded on December 17, 2017.

Here are price charts for the 5 largest cryptocurrencies – using prices from Coinmarketcap.com.
