SEC to Host Elder Abuse Awareness Conference
May 30, 2018
On Tuesday, June 5th, the SEC will participate in the World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) Conference - a day of updates and discussion on the future of elder justice. This event is taking place just ten days before World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
- In the morning, the Elder Justice Coordinating Council will host its spring meeting. Established in 2010 by the Elder Justice Act, the EJCC coordinates activities related to elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation across the federal government.
- In the afternoon, the SEC will host the 4th Annual Global Summit on Elder Justice, convened by the National Adult Protective Services Association, the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, and the National Center for Victims of Crime. That event will be held in the auditorium at SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C..
